A huge part of this year of 29 is that for the entire time I'll be living in London. This has many benefits of course- it's straightforward to travel European countries and beyond; London is full and fun and interesting things to do on a weekly basis; and I get to meet a variety of unique individuals from all over the world. Plus I get to live with my amazing girlfriend and cousin Jon.
Another element that I'm really excited about is the opportunity to try new things. Melbourne provides access to a huge amount of activities that I could easily sign up for and take part in. But there's something about starting afresh in a new city that has meant that I'm approaching these opportunities with renewed vigour. I'm now actively seeking projects and hobbies that I've always wanted to try. For some reason there just seems to be more possibilities over here that are accessible, so I'm keen to jump on anything that piques my interest. I guess the fact of the matter is that when I'm at 'home' in Melbourne, there's the everyday 'stuff' where I just simply go through the motions of daily life maintenance. Whereas here in London, while I'm still doing the same maintenance, I'm much more enthusiastic about filling in the rest of the time with bigger and better things.
My cousin Jon has written a wonderful piece on his blog about the process of lifting your life from one side of the world to the other. You can read all about it here.
